Expert Evidence
Air Noise Environment personnel are regularly called upon to provide Expert Review or prepare Expert Evidence with respect to a wide range of planning and environment related projects. We are particularly experienced in the detailed analysis of noise and air quality issues related to planning matters, and routinely provide advice to Local Councils and Legal Practices with respect to Planning and Environment Court Matters.
Due to the high calibre of the work completed by Air Noise Environment, we have yet to be required to defend any of the assessments completed during the 10 year history of the company in the Planning and Environment Court. We regularly review and complete more detailed analysis of studies completed by other practitioners that have resulted in projects not achieving planning approval, and subsequently their clients have lodged Appeals in the Planning and Environment Court.
Examples of our extensive experience in providing Expert Evidence and Expert Reviews for various clients and law firms around Australia include:
- Planning and Environment Court Appeal relating to a planning application for an existing function centre at Kangaroo Point, on behalf of Brisbane City Council.
- Expert noise evidence on behalf of Brisbane City Council, relating to an Appeal against a Planning Approval for the Tivoli Theatre.
- Expert review of noise assessments completed by various consultants for an existing Dog Kennel operation in Mareeba, advise as to appropriate noise criteria and consent conditions, on behalf of Tablelands Shire Council.
- Expert evidence on behalf of Redlands Shire (now Redlands City) Council with respect to an existing unauthorised industrial activity.
- Expert evidence with respect to noise emissions from a proposed poultry farm operation on behalf of Esk Shire (now Somerset Regional Council).
