Research and Policy Studies
We are regularly commissioned to provide policy advice to Local and State government, and have been involved in providing noise planning policy advice to a number of agencies. Our strong background in planning noise assessments, application of policy in the context of standard development applications and legal appeal situations provides us with a broad knowledge base from which to prepare policy advice.
Examples of noise policy project experience includes:
- Technical briefing papers and recommendation of acoustic quality objectives for the re-made QLD Environmental Protection (Noise) Policy 2008.
- Noise policy advice and preparation of noise constraints mapping and interpretation tool for the 2009 Logan City Council Planning Scheme.
- Development of the noise policy section of the Caloundra Planning Scheme.
- Preparation of Acoustic Guidelines for Childcare Centre Assessments on behalf of Parramatta City Council.
